Vinted Shoppers Express Displeasure Regarding Size Updates
Members of the platform have expressed outrage after an update resulted in listings displaying inaccurate size information.
The popular resale platform has updated its measurement guidelines for women's and children's clothes but did not contact all shoppers about the modification.
Online Platforms Backlash
Numerous buyers and vendors are expressing on platforms claiming that product pages now present a modified sizing category compared to what was initially listed due to the recalibration.
The company said the new system was more in line with comparable marketplaces.
The platform has recommended to examine their items and update the measurements by hand if necessary, causing user dissatisfaction.
Measurement Approach Changes
Before the change, the measurements included a single numeric size and a letter, like S/8 or M/10.
The new system has an alphabetical indicator and numerical range such as S/UK 8-10.
With some products, the size labels have been reassigned - such as a large size was previously a 12 but now shows as UK 16-18.

A fashion influencer, who makes TikTok content about plus-size fashion, stated the update "complicates both purchasing and selling".
"Not many brands say XL is a 20-22," as the platform currently indicates.
Another user, based in Glasgow, stated items she posted with size 14 tags were displaying on the service as measurements 20-22.
"If anyone [who is] size 20-22 buys them they will likely be quite upset," she explained.
Required Changes
Charlotte Lunn, from Derby, said she had been left angered because the modification necessitated personal updates the sizes on "every single listing".
"For me this is particularly frustrating, as I'm chronically ill and selling on Vinted has been paramount for me since losing part of my income," she stated.
Platform Context
The service features exceeding 100 million shoppers, including 18 million in the UK.
It has emerged as a preferred choice to second-hand platforms like eBay and Depop.
This represents another occasion where an unanticipated change to the app has proved unpopular: earlier, the platform withdrew an update regarding delivery choices after backlash from users.
